Social Entrepreneur - Andrew Mawson

Andrew is a serial social entrepreneur. He is internationally known for pioneering work over 30 years founding the Bromley-by-Bow Centre, the housing company Poplar Harca, Leaside Regeneration Ltd and Community Action Network (CAN). Andrew was made an independent Crossbench Peer in 2007.

Today, Andrew is a Director of Andrew Mawson Partnerships. Andrew co-wrote with Architect Richard Rogers and colleagues one of the earliest papers proposing that the Olympics Games be brought to East London and has worked tirelessly to shape the Legacy narrative; he recently launched the Water City Group to create and implement a vision for East London revitalised by the opportunities of the 2012 Olympic Games. He is a Non-Executive Director of the London Legacy Development Corporation planning, developing, and managing the Olympic Park.

His speeches are punctuated with practical stories from his transformational work across the UK and personal anecdotes that are highly entertaining.
